Square Root of Infinity

Four six-foot square boxes form the context for a performance developed in collaboration with dancer/choreographer Young Park and composer Neil Chastain. As the dancer moves through the boxes, she becomes more vulnerable, more aware, more naked. At the same time, the boxes around her become more guarded — the first being the bare frame of the cube, the second with walls of sheer fabric, the third window screen, and the fourth heavy metal grating. As the person becomes more revealed, the walls become fortresses.
