"She has that kind of courage. To put impermanence in."  — Oddbill.com

These interactive paintings are made with wax on glass, lit from front and behind. Maximizing the translucent quality of wax, backlighting reveals a completely different, but related, image. Lights fluctuate between the two states, triggered by a motion sensor when the viewer approaches. At first glance, it appears to be a traditional painting. However, when you engage, they change, becoming many things at once, and reveal their secrets.

I paint with wax on glass and Plexiglas (clear acrylic), using their translucent properties to create layered images that change when lit from behind.
Linked to sensors, the lights are controlled by the viewer, creating a reciprocal relationship between the person and the painting.
